What is Rally?

Rally is a brand new social app built by and for the LGBTQIA+ community.

Its goal is to amplify the work of local queer sports teams, businesses and individuals and help to foster a healthy, safe space for everyone to practise sports and fitness.

Through this new platform, anybody in the LGBTQIA+ community can find new friends, discover local events and join local sports teams.

Rally will enable users to enjoy the rich array of advantages that sports has to offer - from physical health benefits, to mental health improvements as well as that sense of belonging that is found from being part of a community.

The world’s first social app for LGBTQIA+ sports and fitness

Our Vision

To help open the doors to safe spaces for queer and trans people to practise sports.

To make it easy for anyone in the LGBTQIA+ community to connect with like-minded individuals from across the entire spectrum of ages and genders.

To help build healthy, long-lasting friendships between all the different types of members of the LGBTQIA+ community, away from the nightlife scene.

To stand up against homophobia in sport, and promote inclusion for queer and trans people in sport worldwide.

Rally is a space for all LGBTQIA+ sports teams, businesses and individuals to join together in one space, share news and events, plan things to do and make friends.

Whilst exploring the app, users can discover events, teams, people and suggestions near to their location. They can also view a showcase of teams and people from around the world.

Teams can use the app to gain new members, promote their events or services and form part of the global Rally community.

Users can create a profile, which highlights their favourite sports, which LGBTQIA+ flags they identify with, and their pronouns - along with photos and a short bio about themselves.

User can also suggest a plan (e.g. “Who wants to play a game of beach volleyball tonight?”) and chat with other users who are interested in meeting up.

How does it work?

Who created Rally?

I’m Duncan, a Londoner who’s been living in Barcelona for the last 12 years.

I’ve spent years searching for people to join me for a hike, or a bike ride, or a game of beach volleyball. So I decided to build an app to make it easier to find people.

However, in the process, I discovered the most amazing international community of LGBTQ+ sports teams. So I redesigned the app to put the teams at the forefront.
